Steeple Gallery:
Fantastic coffee with a great history.

Originally the St. Philomena's Catholic Church, the building now known as the Steeple Gallery was built in 1906 by ten Monticello families with the help of Robert Henry Allerton and a local priest.

The current owners, Sue and Jim Gortner - purchased the building in 1991 and immediately began restoration of the interior and exterior of the old church; finally opening about three months later as an antique gift shop and framing store.

In 2006 Jim Gortner discovered the enjoyment of a good cup of organic coffee and, seeing a need for a local coffee house, moved away from antiques and began to focus on his passionate love of good coffee.

We still continue to offer coffee related gifts, prints by Linda Nelson Stocks, as well as music CDs for local Monticello area groups such as the King Family Band and II Ton Heavy Thing.

2011 has brought an expansion of our menu with unique drink selections and a variety of local, handmade treats courtesy of anitabiscotti while continuing to offer custom framing and party rentals.

We have also recently completed building a fully-licensed foodservice kitchen; available for longterm or single day rentals. Rent us for your party, rent us to cook for a family gathering, or rent both and cook whatever you need without taking up all your counter space in your home and save the hassle of dragging dishes back and forth!

You can find us in downtown Monticello, right at the corner of State & Lafayette. We have ample parking with no meters and within a block of local shops, banks, and restaurants.
